Liz has been teaching violin and viola since 2002. She has received Suzuki teacher training at the Northern California Suzuki Institute, The Suzuki String School of Guelph, and the Southern Ontario Suzuki institute. Her teacher trainers have included Alan Leib, Elayne Ras, Carrie-Beth Hockett, and Ed Sprunger. For four years Liz was a member of the Suzuki Association of Ontario Board of Directors encouraging the involvement of new and young Suzuki teachers.

Liz completed her B.A. in Philosophy with a minor in Music from the University of Waterloo. In University, Liz was active in the music program as a member of the Orchestra@UWaterloo. Liz currently plays violin in the Waterloo Chamber Players. She is also a freelance musician playing violin and viola in the Quinten Quartet.

In addition to her work as a violin and viola teacher, Liz has worked with the City of Kitchener in community services. Liz has worked for several years one-on-one with children with special needs as an Inclusion Facilitator and in summer 2010 was the Summer Inclusion Co-ordinator for the City of Kitchener. She has taught children and adults of all abilities. She believes in Dr.Suzuki’s motto that Every Child Can.

Liz currently lives in Waterloo with her husband Shuborno and daughter Lilia.
