Barbara K. Byczko holds a Master of Arts in Holistic and Aesthetic Education from The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Toronto.She also holds an ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance, a Kodaly Pedagogy Certificate and an Orff Pedagogy Level I Certificate from The Royal Conservatory of Music as well as a Licentiate Diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity College, London, England. Ms. Byczko has completed Suzuki Piano Teacher Training to Book 4 in the Kingston and Chicago Institutes. As part of her Master’s thesis, Barbara developed a CD for Suzuki Piano Volume 1 and 2, called “Hands Separate, Hands Together”. The pieces are recorded in right hand and left hand only tracks at a practice tempo as well as a hands together track. This has proven to be helpful for both students and parents when learning the Volume 1 and 2 repertoire. She has collaborated with the Infant and Early Childhood team at Surrey Place Centre to develop music classes for infants and toddlers with developmental delays. Currently, Ms. Byczko is a faculty member of The Royal Conservatory of Music where she is a Suzuki piano specialist teaching both private and group lessons. She  serves as a member of the Conservatory’s Music Enrichment Program Faculty Advisory Team and the  RCM College of Examiners.She has examined and adjudicated piano and other disciplines across Canada.  Ms Byczko has developed and directs a Suzuki Recorder program at three schools within the TCDSB.
