Barbara K. Byczko holds a Master of Arts in Holistic and Aesthetic Education from The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Toronto. She also holds an ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance, a Kodaly Pedagogy Certificate and an Orff Pedagogy Level I Certificate from The Royal Conservatory of Music as well as a Licentiate Diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity College, London, England. Ms. Byczko has completed Suzuki Piano Teacher Training to Book 4 in the Kingston and Chicago Institutes. She has studied with many well-known teachers including Boyanna Toyich, Marina Geringas, Lynda Metelsky and Art Levine. Her Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainers include Doris Koppelman, Christine Allen, Diana Gallindo, Valery Lloyd-Watts, Carole Bigler and Yasuko Joichi. Ms. Byczko was a faculty member of The Royal Conservatory of Music for 20 years where she was a Suzuki piano specialist teaching both private and group lessons. She also served as a founding member of the curriculum committee that developed the Royal Diploma Program, now known as the Music Enrichment Program. She is a member of the RCM College of Examiners and has examined piano and other disciplines across Canada. Presently, she maintains a private home studio and is a Music Teacher at the TCDSB where she directs a successful Suzuki Recorder Program.
