Kathy has her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Williamstown University. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto in piano, violin and viola. She has had outstanding teachers for piano (Helen Kramer, Gordon Hallett, Nathan Rosen), violin/viola (Jack Montague, Isadore Desser, David Zafer), ARCT Teachers' Written (Dr. Samuel Dolin, John Robertson). She has played in various orchestras in Toronto and the GTA i.e. Toronto Youth Symphony (1968-1970), National Youth Orchestra of Canada (1969), Etobicoke Philharmonic (1971-74), Mississauga Symphony (1974-77), International Festival of Youth Orchestras in Switzerland (1969). She plays viola in the Oshawa Durham Symphony Orchestra, is also music librarian and plays violin (concert master) in the Durham Chamber Orchestra. Kathy has played in an orchestra in Germany for 5 years (1992-1997) and also taught the string program at the Frankfurt International School in Oberursel, Germany and was guest string clinician for 3 years at 2 Suzuki Music Schools in Freiburg and Muenster. Kathy played the violin in pit orchestras doing musicals i.e. Gilbert & Sullivan Society in Toronto and the Yorkminstrels. As a native of Hungary, she is fluent in Hungarian and has knowledge of French, German and Dutch. She currently has a teaching studio of 25 students in Oshawa, and her string trio (Trio Traditionel) is a regular feature at weddings and banquets. Her string and piano students perform regularly at music festivals and senior homes in Durham Region. Kathy is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has been teaching the Suzuki Method for piano and violin for over 25 years, She continually upgrades her skills with outstanding teachers, especially for piano (Gail Lange, Mary Craig Powell, Valery Lloyd Watts, Carol Bigler) and violin (Helen Brunner, Michelle George, Alice Joy Lewis, Linda Case, Ed Sprunger, Barbara Barber, Music Mind Games with Michiko Yurko).
